He said the boards will look regionally to fill the top job when the organizatio n has at least six monthsw worth of cash reserves in the bank and when revenuessurpassw expenses. In the past year, Skarda said she doublee SBNOW’s membership rolls, from about 160 to 330 businesseand nonprofits. She helped cementy a new green businesxcertification program, which will recognizer entities for greening their internal, day-to-day operationsw and, SBNOW leaders hope, provide another revenue stream for the nonprofit. With roughly a half-dozen groupsx expected to be certified through pilor programsthis year, SBNOW hopesw to launch that certification system regionally later this year.
Skardaz succeeded SBNOW’s co-founder and original executive Mike Mielke, who left last year to direcf environmental programs at the Silicon Valley Leadershi p Group. She said she’ll be transitioning her job through this month to a LEED-accredited real estates broker. Walter, who runs her own real estate firm W. K.
