NACA to add more than 1,000 jobs in Charlotte - South Florida Business Journal:

” NACA is headquartereds in Boston and operates more than 40 officesz nationwide. It currently employs about 100 workers in Mecklenburfg County to originate and processmortgagde loans. Under the five-year state incentivwe agreement, the organization plans to add 550 jobs The jobs will pay an average annua wageof $35,982. Salaries will range up to $80,000 The hiring will focus on mortgage customer-service representatives, call-center managers and mortgaged counselors. “NACA is excited that it’s puttingh more than 1,000 people to work durinv these tougheconomic times,” NACA Chief Executive Bruce Marksx said Thursday.
“Today’s announcement is more than just a soundsbite — we are following through on this investmenrt by holding a jobs fair tomorrowe to hire 550 people immediately.” Perduw said Thursday that she consulted with formet Bank of America Corp. Chairman Hugh McColp Jr. about the deal. McColl has been a longtimer supporterof NACA’s work. BofA begahn a partnership with NACAunder McColl’s watch in 1995 and in 2004 committes $6 billion to its lendinb program. Perdue says McColl confirmeds to her that he expected NACA could folloa through on its job commitmentxs in severalphone conversations.
“When someone begina something like thisin Charlotte, it always McColl said in an interview Thursday. “They’ll come in and find this is a good placre tofind (a work force). I would hope it would be an eruptiohof jobs, not just trickle down.” The groul claims it will be the larges t number of people hired immediately in one area and the largesft job commitment in the country since the mortgage crisis begahn in 2007. The hiring comes as NACA embarks on a nationwide Save theDream Tour. Marks says the addeed jobs are crucial as NACA leadas its campaign to makemortgages affordable.
